Many of the map projections supported in ERDAS IMAGINE are described in these sections:
The external projections were implemented outside of ERDAS IMAGINE so that you could add to these using the IMAGINE Developers’ Toolkit. The projections in each section are presented in alphabetical order.
The information in this appendix is adapted from:
- Map Projections for Use with the Geographic Information System (Lee and Walsh, 1984)
- Map Projections—A Working Manual (Snyder, 1987)
- ArcInfo HELP (Environmental Systems Research Institute, 1997)
Other sources are noted in the text.
For general information about map projection types, see Cartography.
Rectify an image to a particular map projection using the ERDAS IMAGINE Rectification tools. View, add, or change projection information using the Image Metadata dialog.
You cannot rectify to a new map projection using Image Metadata option. You should change map projection information only if you know the information to be incorrect. Use the rectification tools to actually georeference an image to a new map projection system.
