light_bulb_iconThe Temporal Options tab is displayed only for a service source for the WMS (Map) / INSPIRE View Service.

The Temporal Options tab lets you configure the time parameter in the WMS (Map) / INSPIRE View Service.

The Fields tab lets you select Instance based data if you want to specify that the legend entry or layer is based on a feature class or query that has one Date/Time field that represents a moment in time. An example of instance based data is meteorological sensors that produce temperature information every hour. The Temporal field setting lets you select the field on which the time parameter is configured. Or, you can select Range based data to specify that the legend entry or layer is based on a feature class or query that has two Date/Time fields that represent a range in time. An example of range based data is cadastral data that offers information of records between two dates. You can specify the Start date and End date fields on which the time parameter is configured.

The Options tab lets you publish a default date (or a Null value) for the WMS (Map) / INSPIRE View Service to use in absence of a time parameter to the GetMap request. You can also define the value for Current for the WMS (Map) / INSPIRE View Service to use when the Current keyword is used in the GetMap request. You can also check the Support Nearest checkbox to indicate "Nearest" support, which is available only for Instance based data. The GetMap request will find the nearest date/time if an exact match is not found.

The Supported Dates tab lets you define a Unique list of dates or ranges of dates, using the Range option, to be published in the Capabilities response. With the Range option selected, you can also specify Periodicity.

exclamation_point_icon An ISO 8601 Period is used to indicate the Periodicity value. The ISO 8601 format for representing a period of time is used to represent the resolution: Designator P (for Period), number of years Y, months M, days D, time designator T, number of hours H, minutes M, and seconds S.  For example, P1Y = 1 year, P1M10D = 1 month plus 10 days. Refer to OpenGIS® Web Map Server Implementation Specification, Reference number: OGC® 06-042, Version: 1.3.0 for more information.  The Populate button, which is enabled only for Instance based data when the Unique list option is selected, clears the contents in the listbox and populates the field values from the selected Date field from the legend entry. It also uses the default map range as a spatial filter.
