Select specific areas, or mask out from one image based on selected class values from a corresponding raster file and uses those areas to create one or more new files. The areas to mask are selected by class value.

This dialog opens when you:

  • Click Raster tab > Subset_Image Subset & Chip show_menu> Mask.
  • Click Subset_Image Subset & Chip show_menu> Mask from the Multispectral, Panchromatic, Thematic, or Relief tabs.

Input File:

[file name]    Enter the name of the input image to be masked, or click the dropdown arrow to open the Recent Files menu.

 open    Click to open File Selector to navigate to the input image, or right-click to open the Recent Files menu.

Input Mask File: Enter the name of the file to use as a mask, or click the dropdown arrow to open the Recent Files menu.

open     Click to open File Selector to navigate to the input image, or right-click to open the Recent Files menu.

Setup Recode... Click to recode the data values in the input file. The Thematic Recode dialog opens.

Window: Select which area of the files shall be used to process.

Union Click to use the image area of both input files in this process.

Intersection Click to use only the image area that both files have in common for this process.

Output File:

[file name]    Enter the name of the output image, or click the dropdown arrow to open the Recent Files menu.

open    Click to open File Selector to navigate to the desired directory, or right-click to open the Recent Files menu.

Data Type:

Input #1: Shows the input file #1 raster data type.

Input #2: Shows the input file #2 (input mask) raster data type.

Output: Click the dropdown list button to select the raster data type for the output file.

Ignore Zero in Stats.    When this checkbox is checked, pixels containing file values of zero (0) are omitted when statistics are calculated for the output file.

OK Click to run this program with the options selected and close this dialog.

Batch Open Batch Command Editor to schedule one or multiple processing jobs.

AOI... Click to select an AOI (area of interest) in the image to which to apply this function. The Choose AOI dialog opens.

Cancel Click to cancel this process and close this dialog.

View... Click to open a graphical model used for this function. The Model Maker window opens.
